Applications for Parents as Teachers Parent Educator

Southwest R-5 School District is taking applications for a Parents as Teachers Parent Educator. This is a part time, hourly position and requires 60 college hours. Job duties include being responsible for the delivery of home visits to eligible families. 

Support staff applications may be picked up at the Superintendent’s office at 529 E. Pineville Road, Washburn, MO or retrieved from the district website by clicking here and turned in to the Superintendent’s office.

Attention 2012 Southwest Graduates

Southwest will be purging all student cumulative school records fpr 2012 graduates the first week of October 2018. If you would like to have your school records, please come by the High School Office Monday – Friday (8:00am-3:00pm). We will not mail any records. School records are for pick-up only.

Open House and Fall Picture Day

Elementary, Middle, and High School have open house planned Tuesday, August 7, from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

Freshman Orientation will take place at 5:00pm during Open House in the HS Commons.

Fall Picture Day is Tuesday, August 21. Retakes will be Thursday, October 18.

Sports Physicals

UPDATE: Physicals will now take place in the Middle School Gym on Thursday, August 2nd.


Southwest school along with the Mercy Clinics will be offering sports physicals for all Southwest students planning on playing sports this 2018-2019 school year.  This is open to all students who will be in grades 5 thru 12. The physicals will be on Thursday August 2nd at 8:30 am in the middle school gym and will run until no-one is left.  The cost will be $5 (make checks out to Mercy Clinic) and the forms can be picked up in the HS & MS offices beginning July 23rd. The physical forms are MSHSAA forms which must be filled out ahead of time with proof of insurance.  For more information you can contact Athletic Director Kenny Ferguson at 417-342-5496.
