Southwest Little Spikers Volleyball Camp April 10-11-12
Southwest High School will hold its annual Little Spikers youth volleyball camp April 10, 11 and 12 at the high school gym in Washburn. The event, which runs from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. each day in the high school gym, costs $25, and includes a T-shirt and certificate and free admission to a future volleyball game. The event is open to boys and girls from kindergarten to 5th grade. Coaches Steve Voyak and Mandy Henry, and members of the Lady Trojan volleyball team, teach fundamentals and rules of the game. 2018 Southwest Yearbooks Order Forms Available
Yearbook order forms are available at all three Southwest school facilities, according to Mr. Voyak. The deadline to order is May 1. No extra books will be printed, so order now. The cost of the 2018 yearbook is $25. A student can put his or her name on the publication for $5 extra. A club, senior, or sports icon can also be purchased for $5. The staff is also offering two special deals: 1.) The combo pack: for $30 a student will get the 2018 and 2017 books at a discounted price. Special Education Director/Process Coordinator Position Open
Southwest R-V School District is now accepting applications for the position of Special Education Director/Process Coordinator. This position will be responsible for the oversight of the district’s special education program. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Southwest R-V serves approximately 780 students who reside in Barry and McDonald counties, with its campus located at Washburn, Missouri. Application materials should include a letter of intent, a completed “Application for a Certified StaffPosition” (accessed by clicking here), a resume, 3 letters of recommendation, college transcripts and a copy of appropriate Missouri certification. Southwest R-V School District will be accepting bids in respect to various surplus bid items. A complete list can be viewed by clicking here; or a hard copy can be obtained from the Central Office.
Deadline for submitting bids is 12:00 noon, January 31, 2018. Mail-in bids must arrive by January 31, 2018. |
Southwest Project Graduation Sponsors Thanksgiving Dinner
A Thanksgiving dinner will be held at Southwest High School on Sunday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Commons Area. The event is being sponsored by Project Graduation. The cost is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and $5 for children. The meal will feature turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, roll, dessert, and drink. |
Southwest Sports Physicals July 26
Southwest Sports Physicals will take place at 8:30am on Wednesday, July 26, in the High School Gym. Please bring $5 for the physical. This is for all athletes 5-12th grades. |
