Southwest swept its JV and varsity matches at Exeter Tuesday night in the regular season finale for the Lady Trojans. In the JV game, Alli Serrano made 15 straight serves in the second set and finished 20 for 20 with 9 aces, while Maggie Robbins was 11 for 13 with 7 aces. In all, the girls finished with 22 aces for the match. The JV team finished the season with 9 wins, 7 losses and 2 ties. This might seem mediocre, but consider the line-up included 6 new starters and the addition of 5 freshmen and a new assistant coach. On an individual note, freshman Maggie Robbins ended the season with 75 aces, which is the most ever for a JV player and would be a new school record if not for Jaime Shrum, breaking that record this season. Jaime has 92 currently with one game to play. Please congratulate the girls and Coach Thurman for a remarkable season.
