The SWR5 Math Team just finished their tournaments for the year. They competed at two very large tournaments which included some of the best private and public school students in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Here are some of the placements for these events:

Haven Brown placed 4th in Analytic Geometry and 6th in Programming...(BTW she learned this week that she is one of 35 students in the nation chosen as a Generation Google Scholar which gives her a $10,000 scholarship and a 3 week summer institute at Google this summer!).

Alex Jimenez placed 8th in Analysis and 3rd in functions (He wore his Harvard sweatshirt over his Harvard t-shirt to intimidate the competition!)

Team events:

10th place Word Problem Team: Gracelyn Gentry, Bryan Jimenez, Payton Osburn, and  Elizabeth Wolfe

2nd place Trig Team: Mikaela Black, Haven Brown, Hailey Foster, and Alex Jimenez

SWR5 students are doing some exciting things in academics. Great job to all who prepare these students to compete in these events!
