Southwest won the C and JV matches, but lost to Blue Eye in 3 sets in the varsity game Monday night in Washburn. The Lady Trojans won the C match 25-18, 25-19. Freshman Karissa Martinez had 9 kills, while Sophomore Mariah Munday added 5. Also, Sophomore Lacey Reeves made 13 of 14 serves, including 4 aces and added 7 assists. Southwest also won the JV game in straight sets. Sophomore Jacey Ball had 5 kills, while Junior Hailey Benninger added 4 and Sophomore Lili Outhouse had 3. Freshman Karlea Holder setter had 8 assists. The JV has won 4 games in a row and improved its record to 4-2. In the varsity match, the Lady Trojans won the first set 25-22, but lost the second 26-24 after leading 24-22. Senior Sydney Delossantos had 28 digs and 5 kills, while Senior Bekah McKeever added 20 digs and 2 kills. Junior Myka Cook had 6 kills, 2 blocks and an ace for Southwest, which lost for the 7th time in 10 games. The Lady Trojans play their next home game Tuesday against Ozark 7 Conference foe Verona.
