Southwest Defeats Gentry (Ark.) for 7th at Volleyfest

Seniors Myka Cook and Allie Serrano and Junior Heather Windes led past Gentry (Ark.) 25-20, 20-25, 25-15 at the 34th annual Volleyfest Saturday. "Nobody wants to finish 7th," said Coach Voyak. "But we lost to Cassville by 2 points in each set, and they won the tournament. We also lost to Berryville, who lost to Cassville in the championship. Otherwise tied Wheaton and beat Gentry and Decatur." Southwest has a record of 7-11-3 with 8 games remaining, plus districts. They have another busy week with a road game at Crane Monday and then home games in McAuley and Forsyth Tuesday and Thursday. Special thanks to all the game officials, concession workers and custodians for making it a successful tournament. It's always a good day for volleyball."
