A mysterious case has hit Southwest Lower Elementary, and school officials are calling on local families to help solve it. On October 1st, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, the school will host “CLUE Family Night — Lights Out Literacy: The Case of the Missing Books.”
Organized by the Southwest Reading Detective Agency, the event invites young sleuths and their families to investigate the disappearance of a special collection of books featuring themes like Mystery, Adventure, Friendship, Imagination, Knowledge, and Justice.
The interactive literacy night features four core stations:
Explore: Families will receive flashlights to navigate six interactive literacy stations in the dark.
Question: Detectives can interrogate in-character school staff members for clues.
Gather: Participants will inspect the scene and collect physical evidence.
Solve: Investigators must determine who moved the books and where they were hidden.
The event is designed for students in Pre-K through 6th grade, with siblings encouraged to join the investigation. Flashlights will be provided at entry, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
