Turn the Page for Mrs. Yoho

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to announce that Southwest Elementary School will be holding a Read-a-thon to begin on March 2, 2026.  We are doing this to support our First Grade Teacher, Mrs. Danielle Yoho and to promote the joy of reading and raise funds for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet it is a leading cause of cancer death in the United States. By reading, our students are not only building their literacy skills but also helping to fund critical research, patient support services, and screening initiatives to fight this disease.

How it works:

  1. Read: Students will log their reading time over the next two weeks.

  2. Sponsor: Please help your child find sponsors (family, friends, neighbors) to pledge a donation for their reading efforts.

  3. Support: Donations can be made by scanning the qr code on the pledge form or by returning the attached sponsorship card to school school with funds collected.

Our goal is 100% participation! No amount is too small, as every dollar helps create a future free of colorectal cancer.

Thank you for encouraging your child to read and for supporting this important cause.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Christy Hermansen

SW Elementary Principal
