SOFTBALL UPDATE: On Monday (4/1) the softball team hosted the Ash Grove Pirates. Fortunately, the weather held off for the whole game! Unfortunately, the Lady Trojans lost to the Pirates in 4 innings. Kaleigh Tull pitched and did great! It just wasn't enough to hold off a very good hitting team. Tull also had the solo hit by the Lady Trojans on a single to left field. Tuesday's game at Mount Vernon was rained out. Wednesday the JV Lady Trojans traveled to Pea Ridge for 2 - 5 inning games. Addy Payne pitched the first game which ended early (3 innings) after the Lady Blackhawks collected 13 hits and forced a handful of errors. On the hitting side Payne started us off with a single to left field. Becca Swanepoel is hit by a pitch and then Rylee Hobbs singles to left. With the bases loaded, Addison Cotton is hit by a pitch to score Payne. Kindred Durossette grounds out but scores a run! And Sophie Schweers hits a Sac Fly to left, scoring Hobbs before the third out is made. In the second game of the evening, Jacee Durossette came in to pitch and did a phenomenal job! In 4 innings pitched, she struck out 5 and walked zero, allowing only 4 hits and 3 runs. The Lady Trojans had 2 hits, but they were not strung together so no runs were scored in the 3-0 loss to end the night. The Lady Trojans are back in action tonight at home against Hurley in a Varsity only game. And then this weekend we are in the Ash Grove Tournament. Schedule as follows: Southwest v. Miller (Noon), Southwest v. Exeter (1:45), and Southwest v. Ash Grove (3:30).
