VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Southwest lost to Thomas Jefferson Saturday and finished 6th at the 40th annual Volleyfest Tournament. The Lady Trojans did pick up wins against Verona and Exeter and were one point away from advancing to the semifinals but lost 27-25 in their second set with Golden City in pool play. Some highlights: Junior setter Laura Jean Henry finished with 49 assists and made all 39 of her serves and has a current streak at 60. Junior Riley Flippo made 31 of 32 serves and six aces and Senior Lyric Bernard had 63 digs and 52 receptions and was named to the All-Tournament Team. The girls have a busy week with games against Crane on Monday, Exeter on Tuesday, and Purdy on Thursday. Pink Out is a week from today against Hurley.
BASEBALL UPDATE: SW wins 15-0 vs Wheaton. Gregory 2.2IP 7K W, Paulsen 1-2 2B RBI, Ray 2-2 2B 5RBI, Meek 2-3 2RBI, Morgan 2-3 2RBI, Taft 1IP 2K 2-2. Back in action tonight @Verona.
VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: The Lady Trojans downed Wheaton Thursday in non-conference volleyball in three sets. HIGHLIGHTS: Juliauna Sierra 9 kills, 10 receptions with no errors, 13 digs; Brooklynn Slye 12 for 13 serving and 22 digs with no errors Riley Flippo 10 for 10 serving with 4 aces, Laura Jean Henry 19 for 19 serving, 22 assists, 14 digs and 4 kills; Lyric Bernard 21 digs, 13 receptions, and 4 kills. Wheaton won the JV game. HIGHLIGHTS: Emma had 41 sets and 6 assists and was 8 for 8 serving; Olivia Hnem had 21 digs and was 6 for 6 serving with and ace; Kylee Rhoads had 9 digs and was 4 for 4 serving. The girls host Volleyfest 40 in Washburn Saturday. They play Verona, School of the Ozarks, Golden City, and Exeter in pool play starting at 8 a.m.
BASEBALL UPDATE: SW beats Crane 4-0. Pippin 6IP 8K W 1-3, Paulsen 2-4, Ayer 2-4 2RBI. JV wins 10-3. We are back in action Thursday at home vs Wheaton.
VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Billings defeated Southwest in both SWCL Conference volleyball games Monday. HIGHLIGHTS: Juliauna Sierra had 6 kills, made all 7 serves, and added 23 of 25 receiving. Brooklynn had 7 receptions and 12 digs with no errors. Lyric had 17 receptions. Missy had 3 aces. LJ was 9 of 9 serving with 14 assists. JV - Rylee Hobbs and Olivia Hnem both had 9 receptions. Rylee had 4 kills and Emma had 5 assists. Thursday is the night. Victory 1 is on the horizon. The girls host Wheaton on Thursday.
JR. HIGH GIRLS BASKETBALL: Our girls placed 1st in the A Team Wheaton Tournament on Saturday with a score of 46-13. Our next game is home tomorrow against Blue Eye.
BASEBALL UPDATE: SW goes 1-1 Saturday. 10-4 vs Hurley and drops 4-5 to Purdy. Paulsen 3-6 HR 2 2B 2RBI, Morgan 3-5 2 2B, Taft 3-8 5RBI 2 2B.
VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: The Lady Trojans volleyball team finished 7th of 10 teams in the Galena Tournament. The girls defeated Verona, tied Blue Eye, and lost to Galena and Fordland in pool play. Despite playing without two starters, the Lady Trojans put up a good fight against Hurley before falling in three sets. Senior Lyric Bernard was named to the All-Tournament team. The girls play at Billings today.
VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Thomas Jefferson defeated Southwest in 4 sets Thursday night in Joplin. Highlights: Juliauna Sierra had 24 receptions (with only 2 errors!), 4 kills, 11 digs, and an ace, Lyric Bernard had 26 receptions and 18 digs, and Riley Flippo had 7 kills, 17 digs, and was 14 for 14 serving with an ace. TJ also won the JV game. The varsity is back in action Saturday with 4 games in pool play at the Galena Tournament beginning at 8 a.m.
BASEBALL UPDATE: SW beats Exeter 10-2 in first round of Purdy Fall Classic. Gregory CG 10K 2ER, Paulsen 1-3 2RBI 2B, Taft 2-3 RBI 2B, Ayer 1-3 RBI, Meek 1-3 RBI. Back in action on Saturday with a double header starting at 11.

Highlights: Juliauna Sierra made all 19 of her receptions, Laura Jean Henry was 8 for 8 serving with 2 aces and 13 assists. Marissa Freeman was 7 for 7 serving with 3 aces and 5 kills. Monett also won the JV game. Olivia Hnem had 7 receptions and was 6 for 6 serving and Kaycee Patterson had five digs. The girls play Thomas Jefferson Thursday.
BASEBALL UPDATE: SW beats Hurley 13-0. Gregory 2-3 3B 2RBI, Paulsen 5IP W 7K 3-3 HR, Morgan 2-2 2B 4RBI, Ray 2-3 2RBI, Taft and Ayer add 1RBI each. JV wins 4-1. Barnett 3IP W.
VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Blue Eye defeated Southwest in four sets Monday in a SWCL Conference volleyball game. Some highlights: ** Kaleigh Tull and Laura Jean Henry combined to make all 25 of their serves. KT added six kills and a block and LJ had 24 assists. **Riley Flippo made 21 of 22 serves but ended her serving streak at 52 in a row. ** Missy Freeman had 8 kills, 5 receptions, 4 digs, 2 blocks and 2 aces ** Juliauna Sierra made 16 of 19 receptions and added 19 digs ** Lyric Bernard had 20 receptions and 23 digs. The JV also lost to Blue Eye. Olivia Swafford had 2 kills and a block, Olivia Hnem had 12 digs and an ace and Lily Barnett had 2 kills and an ace. The girls play Monett at home in a non-conference game tonight.
BASEBALL UPDATE: SW places 4th in the Crane Wood Bat Tournament with a loss to Billings. Gregory 2-4 2B, Morgan 1-2 2B RBI, Foster 1-1. Morgan & Paulsen get All- Tournament Team! Back in action with two homes games tonight and tomorrow!
BASEBALL UPDATE: SW drops one to Hartville 11-2. Morgan 1-3 2B, Gregory 1-4 1 SB, Ray 1-3 1 RBI 1 SB, Paulsen 1-3 2B, Meek 1-3 1 RBI. We are back in action Saturday at Crane in the 3rd place game. Game starts around 2:30.

VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Spokane won both SWCL Conference volleyball matches against Southwest on Tuesday in Washburn. Some highlights: Missy Freeman had 6 kills, 5 digs a block, and was 9 of 10 serving with 4 aces, Juliauna Sierra had 3 kills and 20 receptions, Lyric Bernard had 21 receptions, Laura Henry had 14 assists, 10 digs, 2 kills and was 10 for 10 serving, Riley Flippo was 7 of 7 serving with 2 aces and extended her consecutive serve streak to 37. For the JV Olivia Hnem had 16 receptions, Kylee Rhodes added 7 and Olivia Swafford had 2 kills. The girls return to action on Monday at Blue Eye.
VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Southwest rallied to defeat Gentry in 4 sets Monday night on the road. Gentry won the JV match in two sets. The team opens the conference season tonight against once-beaten Spokane at 5:30 p.m.
