BASEBALL UPDATE: Southwest wins 17-0 against Greenfield. Pippin No Hitter 7K 1BB 1-1 3B 4RBI, Paulsen 3-3 4RBI, Shrum 1-2 3RBI, Garcia 1-1 RBI 2HBP. Back in action tonight @Miller against Sarcoxie at 6:30.
HUMPHRIES LEADS TROJANS TRACK @ CONFERENCE MEET: Junior Robert Humphries finished second in the 800 meters (2:10.51) and the mile (4:51.60) and fourth in the 2-mile (11:18.33) and anchored a 3rd-place finish in the 4x400 relay Monday to lead Southwest at the SWCL Conference track meet in windy conditions at Blue Eye High School. Other highlights: ** Freshman Ivan Suchowski scored in the long jump (6th), and both hurdle events (5th and 6th); ** Senior Rachel Willer was second in the discus; ** Senior Cally Bowyer was 4th in the 400 and 5th in the 800; ** Sophomore Kali Jones was 6th in the 800; ** Both Bowyer and Jones were also part of the 3rd-place 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams. ** Seniors Traven Walkingstick, Kaydee Gabbard, Rachel, and Cally were honored in their final regular season meet. Next: Class 2 District 6 is Saturday at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar.
JH TRACK UPDATE: The JH Track Team had a strong finish to their season at Blue Eye for the SWCL Conference Meet. Everyone medaled in at least one event! Please congratulate them on a great season when you see them. The 7th grade girls took 2nd overall: ** Sidney Roe finished 1st in both the mile and 800m runs and 3rd in the long jump; ** Holly Johnson finished 2nd in the mile, 6th in the 800m and 3rd in the triple jump; ** Addison Palmer finished 1st in both the 100m and 200m runs; ** Gracelyn Sanders finished 4th in the 400m and 7th in the 100m; ** The girls relay team (Sidney, Addison, Holly, & Gracelyn) finished 3rd in the 4x400. The 7th grade boys team finished 3rd overall: ** Andy Day finished 2nd in shot put and 3rd in discus; ** Ian Quick finished 1st in discus and 3rd in shot put; ** Ky Miles finished 4th in discus and 6th in shot put; ** Easton Tinsley finished 7th in the 100m and long jump; ** The Relay Team (Andy, Ian, Ky & Easton) took 1st in the 4x200 and 2nd in the 4x100. The 8th grade boys finished 4th overall: ** Skyler Reines placed 1st in the triple jump, 4th in the 200m, 3rd in the high jump, and 3rd in the long jump; **
Bryar Llewellyn finished 1st in both the 800m and mile.
BASEBALL UPDATE: Friday was Senior Night! Southwest beats Blue Eye 9-2. Corwin 2IP 2K 1H 0BB 2-3 RBI, Gregory 2-4 4RBI, Paulsen 5IP W 2ER 1BB 6K 5H, 6 total steals today! We are back in action this week @ Miller in the Miller tournament. We play today and tomorrow at 6:30.
BASEBALL UPDATE: First game on the new field turns out to be a good Won....Southwest beats McAuley 6-5. Barnes 4.1IP 4K 2ER 3H RBI, Ayer 1-2 2RBI, Corwin 2.2IP W 3K, 7 stolen bases as a team and 5 HBP. Ayer with the go ahead 2 RBI single in the 5th inning! Back in action tonight vs Hurley and Friday vs Blue Eye.

HUMPHRIES SCORES IN 3 EVENTS @ MONETT INVITATIONAL TRACK MEET: Junior Robert Humphries finished 3rd in the mile (4:48.29), 4th in the 800 (2:09.71), and 5th in the 2-mile (10:53.77) and PRd in all three events Tuesday at the Monett Invitational Track Meet. A total of 28 teams participated in the event. Other Trojan and Lady Trojan highlights included:** the 4x800 girls relay team finished 4th (11:46.57) and PRd by 13 seconds with Senior Cally Bowyer running a 2:43 split; ** Junior Ezra Sprowes finished fifth and PR'd in the 400 in 54.70 seconds; ** Sophomore Vivica Villegas PRd (6:46.64) by 29 seconds in the mile; ** Freshmen Tobi Smith (13:18.06)) and Ivan Suchowski PRd (49.4) in the 2-mile and the 300 hurdles; ** Milers Victor Tellez (5:26) and Kameron Kelley (5:48) both PR'd in the mile; ** Cally (4th) and Kali Jones (7th) scored in the 800 at 2:49 (PR) and 2:52. The team returns to action Thursday at Mount Vernon.
FFA STATE RESULTS: Thursday and Friday of last week the Southwest FFA represented our school at the State FFA Contest at Columbia. Results are as follows: ** Dairy Cattle -10th; ** Agronomy- 7th, Lilly Wolf- 9th individually; ** Horse- 18th; ** Soils- 35th; ** Saige Miller- 7th-16th- Employment Skills; ** Colton Pendergraft- 1 of 16 finalist for Star in Agribusiness.

Saturday -- Southwest beats Sparta 15-5. Garcia 2-4 HR 5RBIs, Ayer 3RBIs, Paulsen 3IP 5Ks 0ER, Shrum 1-2 3BB, Gregory 2-4, Meek 1-3 2B RBI, all 10 that played had a hit.

Tuesday -- JV played and lost to a very good Purdy Jv team 7-0. Southwest is back in action Thursday @Spokane, Friday @Pierce City and Saturday @Sparta.
HUMPHRIES LEADS TRACK TEAM @ CASSVILLE: Junior Robert Humphries was third in the 800 meters and 4th in the mile and Sophomore Makaila Anderson was 4th in the 100 at the Cassville Relays Tuesday night. Other highlights: * The 4x800 girls relay PR'd at 11:59 and Senior Cally Bowyer ran a PR split of 2:46. * The 4x400 boys relay PR'd at 3:51. * Seniors Kaydee Gabbard and Traven Walkingstick both PR'd in the discus. The Trojans next compete at Monett next Tuesday.

HUMPHRIES LEADS SOUTHWEST TRACK @ SPOKANE MEET: Junior Robert Humphries finished 2nd in the mile (4.52.59) and 3rd in the open 800 (2:11.35) to lead a shorthanded Trojans track team Thursday at the Spokane Invitational. Other highlights: ** the boys 4x400 relay team was 6th in 4:00.97. ** Freshman Ivan Suchowski was 5th in the high jump at 5-3.75. ** Freshman Cecilia Goins was 8th in the mile in 8:41.37. **Freshman Vic Tellez was 9th in the mile with a PR of 5:28.47. ** Senior Traven Walkingstick was 9th in the disc at 84-11. ** Senior Rachel Willer PR'd in both the shot (60-03) and disc (25-02) finishing 11th and 12th. The team returns to action Tuesday at Cassville.
BASEBALL UPDATE: Southwest falls short to Galena 12-9. Corwin 3.1IP 0ER 6K 2-4 3RBIs, Garcia 1-3 2RBIs 2B, 3 others with an RBI and 5 others with a hit. Back in action again tonight at Jasper.
JH TRACK UPDATE: Sidney Roe has broken another school record! She PRed in the 800m with a time of 2:39 setting a new school record. She placed 1st in both the 800m and the 1600m run. Addison Palmer tied for 4th in the 100m and placed 5th in the 200m. The girls 4x400 team placed 5th. Bryer Llewellyn PRed in both the 800 and 1600 placing 2nd in the 800m and 3rd in the 1600. Andy Day also PRed yesterday in the shot put coming in 3rd place. Overall the team had a great showing at the East Newton JH Track meet!
HUMPHRIES, SPROWES & BOWYER LEAD TRACK TEAM @ PIERCE CITY MEET: Junior Robert Humphries medalled in the 800 meters (2:13) and mile (4:49) and Junior Ezra Sprowes (24.0) in the 200 meters and then both helped the 4x400 relay PR and finish 3rd (3:52) Tuesday at Pierce City Track Invitational. The other members of the relay squad were Sophomore Braydan Eggleston and Freshman Victor Tellez. Other highlights: * the 4x400 girls finished 2nd in 4:58 and 4x800 girls finished 4th and PRd in 11:54. The five girls that make up the two relay teams are Senior Cally Bowyer, Juniors Juliauna Sierra, Abigail Floyd, and Alexis Borwick, and Sophomore Kali Jones, who also PRd and scored in the 800. * Senior Traven Walkingstick was sixth and scored in the discus and Sophomore Eva Velasco PRd in the shot put. The team returns to action Thursday at Spokane.
BASEBALL UPDATE: 4/6 Southwest falls to Exeter 6-3. Ayer 3.1IP 1ER 1-2 RBI, Lakey 2-3 2RBIs, Garcia 2-4, Paulsen 2-2. JV wins 9-2. 4/7 Southwest falls late to Billings 9-3. Paulsen 1-3, Pippin 5IP 1K, Shrum 2SB. Jv wins 4-3.
JH TRACK UPDATE: The JH Track team went to Spokane Thursday April 6th, here are the highlights: Addison Palmer finished 2nd in the 100m and 1st in the 200m. Sidney Roe finished first in the both the 1600m and 800m. Holly Johnson PRed in the 800m and finished 4th only 1/100 of a second behind 3rd place. The girl 4x400 team (Sidney Roe, Addison Palmer, Holly Johnson and Gracelyn Sanders) finished 4th. Skyler Reines placed 2nd in the Triple jump and 6th in the Long Jump
FFA UPDATE: The Dairy Cattle team competed yesterday at Stillwater, Ok in the Southern Nationals Dairy Judging Contest in which they placed 2nd. 4 states were represented. Allen H 6th individual and Colten P 10th individual.
BASEBALL UPDATE: Past two days were rough for Southwest baseball as Varsity lost to the previous District Champion East Newton on Monday and then lost to a state ranked Purdy team last night. JV came out with a monster come from behind win on Monday winning 17-16 scoring 13 runs in the last inning but fell to Purdy's JV on Tuesday.
