VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Marionville defeated Southwest in hard-fought 4 sets in the first round of the Class 2 District volleyball tournament at Miller Tuesday night. HIGHLIGHTS: TEAM: 68/72 serving - 94.5% with 12 aces, 21 kills, 6 blocks and 14 receive errors INDIVIDUAL: LJ - 17 for 17 serve with 19 assists: BROOK - 16/17 serve with 3 aces and 3 kills; MISSY - 3 aces, 3 kills, 3 blocks; TANA - 4 digs, 3 kills, 2 blocks; RI - 7 for 7 serving, 9 receptions; JULES - 24 receptions, 19 digs, 6 aces, 5 kills; KT - 8 for 8 serving, 3 kills, 2 blocks; LYRIC - 28 receptions, 24 digs, 3 kills. Additionally, LJ (60) and Riley (45) finished the season making their final 105 serves without a miss. The team finished with a record of 10 wins, 19 losses, and 3 ties. Thank you to all who supported the girls throughout the season. The girls are really appreciative of all the support they received. VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: The Southwest volleyball team defeated McAuley in three sets Monday on Senior Night. A few highlights: JULES - 16/17 receptions, 9/9 serving with 3 aces and 5 kills, BROOKLYNN - 11 digs, 5 kills, 2 aces; LYRIC 23 digs, 13 receptions, 2 kills, LJ 18/18 with 3 aces and 21 assists and no errors, block; TANA - 3 kills, 2 receptions, 2 digs, and a block; KALEIGH - 3 kills, 2 blocks, and a dig; RILEY - 12/12 serving with 6 digs and 5 receptions; MISSY - 5 kills, 3 blocks, 3 aces. Additionally, the JV earned a tie in two sets with a thrilling 25-23 victory in set 2

VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Galena defeated Southwest in three sets in a SWCL Conference volleyball match Thursday night. Highlights: Juliauna Sierra was 11/11 serving with an ace and 4 kills, Laura Jean Henry was 8/8 serving with 24 assists, Missy Freeman and Brooklynn Slye both had 5 kills, Rylie Flippo was 8/8 serving with 5 receptions and Lyric Bernard had 21 receptions and 16 digs. Galena also won the JV match. Highlights: Emma Outhouse 7/7 serving with 7 digs, Kylee Rhodes had 10 receptions, and Olivia Hnem had 11 receptions and 10 digs. The girls play their final home game Monday night vs. McAuley Catholic with Lyric Bernard, Sophie Schweers, Juiauna Sierra, and Lyric Bernard being recognized on Senior Night. Southwest plays Marionville at Miller on Tuesday in the Class 2 District quarterfinals.
BASEBALL UPDATE: SW beats Billings 7-6 to get 3rd in the SWCL Conf Tournament. Pippin 5.2IP W 5K 2ER 1-3 2RBI, Taft SV .2IP 2K 1-4, Meek 2-4 RBI, Morgan 2-4 2RBI.
Varsity finished the season 17-9! JV wraps up their season with a JV tournament hosted at home Thursday-Saturday.
VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Southwest defeated Hurley in 3 sets for Pink Out 2023 Monday night. More importantly, the team was able to raise some funds for our "Warrior" and one of the top supporters of Southwest athletics Jerry Dale Shrum. It was the 14th year for Pink Out at Southwest. Some highlights: Kaleigh Tull - 7 kills and 6 blocks, Montana Skelton was 9/9 hitting with 4 kills and 7 digs, Lyric Bernard 20/20 in reception, Juliauna Sierra 8 kills and 3 aces, Brooklynn Slye 5 kills, Laura Jean Henry 27 assists and 2 kills and while we had a bad night serving, Riley Flippo, Missy Freeman, and LJ combined to go 41 for 41. Hurley won the JV game. The Lady Trojans travel to Galena on Thursday.

BASEBALL UPDATE: Friday -- Sw loses to MCE 7-3 after leading until the 7th. Ray 6IP 8K, Meek 1-3 2RBI, Paulsen 1-3 1RBI, Tull 1-3. Saturday -- SW advances on in the SWCL tournament with a win over Crane 10-2. Gregory 4IP 7K 0ER, Meek 2-3, Paulsen 1-3 3RBI 2B, Morgan 2RBI, Ray 2-2. We play again tonight Vs Galena in the semifinal game @US ballpark, 6pm start.

Some highlights included: Brooklynn Slye 16/16 serving with 12 digs, 4 kills, and 3 aces; Juliauna Sierra 7/7 serving. 5 kills and 14 digs; Lyric Bernard 34 digs and 16 receptions; Montana Skelton 6 kills and 5 digs; Laura Jean Henry 23 assists and 12/13 serving. The girls play host to Hurley Monday for Pink Out.
VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Southwest defeated Exeter Tuesday in non-conference volleyball. Highlights: Kaleigh Tull 18/18 serving with 7 aces and 10 kills, Laura Jean Henry 31 assists and 13/13 serving, Brooklynn Slye 11 kills and 17 digs, Juliauna Sierra 16/17 serving, 6 aces and 6 kills, and Lyric Bernard 30 digs. Exeter won the JV contest. Southwest hosts Purdy Thursday night.

Highlights: Laura Jean Henry 19/19 serving (current streak at 79!), 26 assists, 17 digs, 3 kills; Brooklynn Slye 16/17 serving, 26 digs, 17 receptions, 4 kills, 2 aces; Missy Freeman 8 kills, 8, digs, 4 aces, and a block; Riley Flippo 12/12 serving, 7 receptions, 5 digs, 3 aces; Juliauna Sierra 26 digs, 18 receptions, 9 kills, and 2 aces; Kaleigh Tull 7/8 serving, 4 kills, 4 digs, and a block; Montana Skelton 5 digs, 3 kills, a block, and an assist; Lyric Bernard 43 digs, 31 receptions, 3 kills. The girls were 79 of 82 serving as a group with 11 aces. The girls play at Exeter tonight for the Tigers' Pink Out.

VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Southwest lost to Thomas Jefferson Saturday and finished 6th at the 40th annual Volleyfest Tournament. The Lady Trojans did pick up wins against Verona and Exeter and were one point away from advancing to the semifinals but lost 27-25 in their second set with Golden City in pool play. Some highlights: Junior setter Laura Jean Henry finished with 49 assists and made all 39 of her serves and has a current streak at 60. Junior Riley Flippo made 31 of 32 serves and six aces and Senior Lyric Bernard had 63 digs and 52 receptions and was named to the All-Tournament Team. The girls have a busy week with games against Crane on Monday, Exeter on Tuesday, and Purdy on Thursday. Pink Out is a week from today against Hurley.

HIGHLIGHTS: Juliauna Sierra 9 kills, 10 receptions with no errors, 13 digs; Brooklynn Slye 12 for 13 serving and 22 digs with no errors Riley Flippo 10 for 10 serving with 4 aces, Laura Jean Henry 19 for 19 serving, 22 assists, 14 digs and 4 kills; Lyric Bernard 21 digs, 13 receptions, and 4 kills. Wheaton won the JV game. HIGHLIGHTS: Emma had 41 sets and 6 assists and was 8 for 8 serving; Olivia Hnem had 21 digs and was 6 for 6 serving with and ace; Kylee Rhoads had 9 digs and was 4 for 4 serving. The girls host Volleyfest 40 in Washburn Saturday. They play Verona, School of the Ozarks, Golden City, and Exeter in pool play starting at 8 a.m.

VOLLEYBALL UPDATE: Billings defeated Southwest in both SWCL Conference volleyball games Monday. HIGHLIGHTS: Juliauna Sierra had 6 kills, made all 7 serves, and added 23 of 25 receiving. Brooklynn had 7 receptions and 12 digs with no errors. Lyric had 17 receptions. Missy had 3 aces. LJ was 9 of 9 serving with 14 assists. JV - Rylee Hobbs and Olivia Hnem both had 9 receptions. Rylee had 4 kills and Emma had 5 assists. Thursday is the night. Victory 1 is on the horizon. The girls host Wheaton on Thursday.
JR. HIGH GIRLS BASKETBALL: Our girls placed 1st in the A Team Wheaton Tournament on Saturday with a score of 46-13. Our next game is home tomorrow against Blue Eye.
